ABOUT DR. VERENA RESCH

From a young age, Verena was passionate about natural science, particularly astronomy and animals. In high school, she developed a fascination with chemistry, leading her to study chemistry and biochemistry at the University of Graz. Chemistry is her Yin, and art her Yang. She gained experience in professional graphic design through internships at a major advertising agency. During her PhD and PostDoc, she created journal covers and conference materials, blending her creative and analytical skills. Verena began freelancing as a scientific illustrator in 2016.

UNIVERSITY EDUCATION

2002–2008 // Studies in Chemistry at the University of Graz. Graduated (MSc) in the field of biocatalysis.
2008–2011 // PhD thesis at the University of Graz. Graduated with distinction (PhD, December 2011)
2012–2014 // PostDoc at Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands) with an Erwin-Schrödinger Fellowship (granted by the FWF)
2014–2016 // PostDoc at the University of Graz
